MEASUREMENT METHOD
This product applies the oscillometric principle to measure blood pressure and heart rate. The sleeve is connected to the body and wraps around the arm. Circles inside the sleeve detect the slight oscillations exerting pressure on the sleeve caused by the contraction and relaxation of the arteries in the arm in response to each heartbeat. The amplitude of each pressure wave is measured, converted to millimeters of mercury, and displayed on the LCD screen as an electronic unit. In the event that the pulse rhythm detected during the measurement is irregular, an indication of irregular pulse rhythm is visualized on the display. The last 30 results are stored in the memory along with date and time for comparison, and the average value of the stored information is calculated.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECT MEASUREMENT OF BLOOD PRESSURE
1. When being treated with hemodialysis or anticoagulants, anti-platelets or steroids, consult your doctor in advance regarding blood pressure measurement.
2. When using the device near mobile phones, microwave ovens and other devices that generate electromagnetic radiation, there may be disturbances in operation.
3. In order to measure correctly, you must take into account that BLOOD PRESSURE IS SUBJECT TO SEVERE FLUCTUATIONS EVEN OVER SHORT PERIODS. The level of blood pressure is affected by many factors. It is usually lower in summer and higher in winter. Arterial pressure is affected by physical exertion, emotional excitability, stress and diet. Medicines, alcoholic beverages and smoking also have a big impact. In many people, even the very procedure of measuring blood pressure causes an increase in pressure values. Therefore, blood pressure measured at home often differs from that measured in the clinic. Because blood pressure increases at low temperatures, blood pressure measurements should be taken at room temperature (around 20°C). If the device has been stored at a low temperature, before using it, you must let it stand for at least 1 hour at room temperature, otherwise the measurement result may be inaccurate. Within a day, the difference in indicators for healthy people can be of the order of 30 - 50 mm of mercury column for the diastolic (lower limit) pressure. The dependence of arterial pressure on various factors is individual for each individual. Therefore, it is recommended to keep a special diary to record blood pressure values. ONLY THE DOCTOR CAN ANALYZE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE TREND BASED ON THE DIARY DATA.
4. In the case of cardiovascular diseases and in some other diseases requiring monitoring of blood pressure, the measurements should be carried out at the times determined by the attending physician. REMEMBER THAT DIAGNOSIS AND ANY TREATMENT CAN ONLY BE PERFORMED BY A PHYSICIAN, BASED ON BLOOD PRESSURE VALUES OBTAINED BY LE(AR INDIVIDUALLY. TAKING OR CHANGING DOSAGE OF MEDICINES TAKEN SHOULD BE PERFORMED ONLY ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE TREATING PHYSICIAN.
5. In disorders of the type of deep vascular sclerosis, a weak pulse wave, and also in patients with strongly expressed disturbances of the rhythm of heart contractions, the correct measurement of arterial pressure can be difficult. IN SUCH CASES, IT IS NECESSARY TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FOR THE CORRECT USE OF THE DEVICE.
TO GET CORRECT BLOOD PRESSURE READINGS WHEN USING THE ELECTRONIC DEVICE YOU MUST KEEP COMPLETE SILENCE DURING THE MEASUREMENT. Blood pressure measurement should be done in a quiet, comfortable environment at room temperature. You must not have eaten at least one hour before the measurement, and for an hour and a half - 2 hours before the measurement, you must not have smoked, consumed tonic drinks, or alcohol.
The accuracy of the blood pressure measurement also depends on how well the cuff size of the device corresponds to the size of your hand. THE SLEEVE SHOULD NOT BE TOO SMALL OR TOO LARGE FOR YOUR HAND.
Repeat measurements are made at 5-minute intervals to restore blood circulation. However, for those suffering from severe atherosclerosis due to significant loss of vessel elasticity, the time interval between measurements should be longer (10 - 15 minutes). The same applies to long-term diabetic patients. For a more accurate measurement of blood pressure values, a series of 3 consecutive measurements is recommended, and the average value of the results is considered as the result.

Causes of change in blood pressure:

Body movement;
Emotions;
Smoking;
Temperature, noise, etc.;
Conversation;
Nutrition;
Recent urination or bowel movements;
Change in environment, eg movement;
Mental stress;
Alcohol consumption.

Blood pressure measured at home is usually lower than blood pressure measured in a hospital, clinic, or doctor's office. This is due to the fact that you are tense in the hospital and calm at home. It is important to be informed about your stable usual blood pressure at home.
Have a qualified doctor interpret your blood pressure readings.
Depending on your age, weight and general condition, blood pressure may vary slightly. Consult your doctor to determine the blood pressure level that is normal for you.
Before taking a blood pressure reading, rest for about 5 minutes and take your blood pressure while resting in a quiet environment.
Measure blood pressure by standing in a suitable position and do not talk during the reading.
Avoid exercising, consuming food and alcohol, smoking, and other activities that may affect your blood pressure immediately before the measurement.
Take your blood pressure at the same time every day.
The ambient temperature when measuring blood pressure should be around 20 °C.

Classification of blood pressure (World Health Organization, 1999):

Hypertension Grade 1;
Hypertension Grade 2;
Hypertension Grade 3;
normal borderline;
normally optimal.

CORRECT MEASUREMENT POSITION
Sit on the table and place your arm on it while taking your blood pressure. Make sure to take the measurement in a place on the upper arm that is at about the same height as the heart, and the lower arm is stretched out and placed naturally on the table and remains still. You can lie on your back and take the measurement. Look at the ceiling, remain calm and do not move your neck or any other part of your body during the measurement. Again, make sure the measuring point is at about the same height as the heart.
The measured readings may vary slightly depending on the position during the measurement. If the sleeve is lower (higher) than the heart, the measured readings may be increased (lowered).

SLEEVE PLACEMENT
1. Place the sleeve on your left arm by positioning the air hose against your arm.
2. Wrap the sleeve around your arm with the end of the sleeve placed about 2-3 cm above the elbow. The air tube should be located on the palm side of the hand.
3. Press the surface of the sleeve to make sure it is securely fastened.
When wrapping the sleeve, wrap it loosely enough around the arm so that two fingers can be placed between the arm and the sleeve. In case the sleeve is wrapped too tightly or loosely, inaccurate results may be reported.
If you are wearing a shirt that can restrict blood circulation to the upper arm or have your sleeve rolled up over the upper arm, you will restrict blood flow and prevent an accurate blood pressure reading.

MEASUREMENT PROCEDURES
Insert the tube plug into the air connector.
Press the power button. A flashing air release signal is displayed.
The sleeve automatically inflates until the applied pressure is reached.
The pressure (the value shown on the display) begins to decrease, and the heart rate is indicated by a heart-shaped sign.
When the measurement is finished, the air is automatically released from the sleeve. Blood pressure and pulse are visualized on the display. The heart-shaped symbol flashes when the heart rate measured during the reading was at an abnormal level.
Press one of the two memory buttons 1 or 2 and the result will be stored in the memory function.
The display shows the number of the selected memory function. The result is saved in the selected memory when the unit is turned off. The measured abnormal heart rate is not saved, only the blood pressure and heart rate readings are saved. In case the measurement ended with an error, the result will not be saved.
Press the power button to turn off the device.
If you forget to turn off the device, it will automatically turn off after 3 minutes.
Take a deep breath and relax.
Do not move, talk or strain your arm during the measurement.

Termination of measurement
Press the on/off button and the inflation stops, the air is released to the outside and the monitor turns off.

Automatic re-inflation
In the event that the applied pressure is judged insufficient in the first phase of the measurement or arm or wrist movement is detected during the measurement, the device will re-inflate to a pressure approximately 40 mmHg higher. Inflation is repeated until the measurement is taken. However, this is not an indication of a problem. To control re-inflation manually, hold down the on/off button immediately after the start of inflation and release it when the pressure reaches a level 50 mmHg higher than the expected maximum systolic pressure If the pressure value has exceeded 180 mmHg, the inflation process will be terminated when the button is released. The pressure can be raised to about 300 mmHg.

Indication of abnormal heart rhythm
A flashing heart appears on the measurement result display, indicating an abnormal heart rhythm.
The abnormal heart rhythm may be the result of body movement during the measurement or an arrhythmia. Although the prolonged appearance of this symbol during a calm measurement can be a signal of arrhythmia, do not draw your own conclusions before consulting a doctor.
Do not take consecutive measurements because blood pooling can lead to false readings. Let your hand rest for at least 5 minutes.
