In November 2022, Subra Pharmacies chain launched an initiative to support the 5th year Pharmacy students from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
A competition for the best project on a selected topic was held within a month:
What location should I choose to open a new pharmacy "Subra"? What innovations would you make in "Subra" pharmacy to attract more patients/customers. What additional professional service would you provide to patients in the pharmacy to increase turnover in the pharmacy? How would you attract students to do their pre-apprenticeship at Subra Pharmacies?
The evaluation committee included the lecturers from the Department of Social Pharmacy, Assoc. Pharm. Dr. Ognyanov and Prof. Hristov, and representatives of the Subra Pharmacies chain - Mgr. Pharm. Gergana Andre - Director Business Development, M.Pharm. Varvara Bashliyska - Commercial Director and M.Pharm. Monika Damyanova - Operations Manager.
On January 13, 2023, at a specially organized meeting at the office of Subra Pharmacies, five of the students who received the highest marks on their projects were awarded with a cash prize of 400 BGN, a gift set of exclusive for the chain brands and a place for a pre-degree internship. The award ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Sava Ognyanov and the Managing Director of Subra Pharmacies Mr. Bayan Dochev.
All other fifth year students who expressed their desire will have the opportunity for a pre-degree internship and training alongside established and experienced Master Pharmacists in a real and dynamic work environment.
This lays the foundation for a long-term collaboration between Subra Pharmacies and the Department of Pharmacy at St. Kliment Ohridski University. The commitment is to support the growth of future industry personnel by providing real professional opportunities and growth with outstanding professionals.
