What is POLENER and what is it used for:
POLENER nasal spray for the treatment and prevention of typical nasal symptoms of allergic rhinitis - such as:
runny nose
sneezing
itchy and stuffy nose
POLENER is a medical device that contains ectoin®, a natural cell protective molecule with anti-inflammatory and membrane-stabilizing properties.
POLENER reduces the harmful effects of allergens and airborne particles, is also suitable for prophylaxis as a hypertonic solution and unclogs the nose in a natural way
Supports the regeneration process of irritated nasal mucosa caused by allergens
Reduces allergen-induced inflammation of the nasal mucosa
Clinically proven efficacy
Contains no preservatives and is suitable for sensitive noses
POLENER spray has no habit-forming effect and can be used for up to 30 days.
Warnings and precautions:
POLENER should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to Ectoin® or any of the other ingredients of the nasal spray.
If allergic reactions occur, the use of POLENER should be discontinued immediately.
Do not use if the device is damaged or punctured.
To ensure hygiene, each nasal spray bottle should only be used by one person.
Do not use more than 3 months after opening.
POLENER should be stored out of the reach of children.

No data are available regarding interactions between POLENER and other topical nasal treatments.
How to use POLENER spray
Always use POLENER according to these instructions for use.
Unless otherwise prescribed, please apply 1-2 sprays in each nostril several times a day.
POLENER is suitable even for children under 2 years of age, if it is not applied more than 10 times (2 sprays per nostril) per day.
No dose restriction for individuals ≥2 years of age
Do not use POLENER for more than 30 days continuously.
Before using POLENER for the first time, if the spray function is impaired, remove the cap and pump the bottle 2-3 times in an upright position to release the air from the pump. Do not cut the tip.
1. Gently blow your nose to clear your nostrils
2. Remove the cap from the bottle
3. Hold the bottle with your index and middle fingers on either side of the finger rest and your thumb under the bottle. Tilt your head slightly forward and close one nostril by gently pressing the side of your nose with your finger.
4. Place the spray tip into your nostril. While pressing the pump quickly and firmly, breathe in gently through your nose.
5. Place the tip in your other nostril
6. Repeat the steps described above for the other nostril
7. Wipe the exposed tip of the bottle with a clean, lint-free cloth
8. Put the cap on the bottle
Possible side effects of POLENER spray
POLENER is well tolerated. No regularly occurring or persistent side effects are known so far.
Please inform your healthcare provider, pharmacist about the product if you notice any side effects related to the use of POLENER. If the condition persists or worsens, contact your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
How to store POLENER spray
The expiration date of POLENER is printed on the box and on the bottle.
POLENER should not be used after the expiration date.
POLENER should be stored between 2°C – 25°C.
Additional information
If POLENER spray is used as intended, there is no evidence of any particular risk during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
POLENER is suitable for children
Children under 10 years of age and patients who cannot use POLENER spray independently should be assisted during the application of POLENER spray.
