Plant-based medicine for gastrointestinal diseases.
For the treatment of functional and motility-related gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome, including spasm-like disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (gastrointestinal spasms), and for the supportive treatment of inflammatory bowel disease mucosa (gastritis).
Iberogast® quickly and effectively relieves various gastrointestinal complaints such as stomach pain, abdominal cramps, gas, bloating, heartburn and nausea. Its proven action is based on the extracts of nine different medicinal plants. Bitter Iberis activates and relaxes the muscles of the stomach and intestines when needed and has an antacid effect; Snake milk can stimulate the muscles in the upper part of the digestive tract, and the root of the medicinal Pistyalka relaxes the muscles in the digestive tract and has an antispasmodic effect; Chamomile flower relaxes the stomach muscles; caraway fruit relieves gas; the fruit of the milk thistle has an anti-inflammatory effect; Lemon balm and mint leaves have pain-relieving and antioxidant effects. With the unique combination of nine medicinal plants, both the symptoms and the causes of gastrointestinal complaints are effectively alleviated. Iberogast is well tolerated and suitable for children over 3 years of age.
Due to lack of sufficient experience, Iberogast should not be used in children under 3 years of age. Always consult a doctor if abdominal pain occurs in children under 6 years of age.
If after 7 days your symptoms do not improve or your condition worsens, see your doctor so that other serious illnesses can be ruled out.
If there is no other prescription, Iberogast is taken with a little liquid before or during a meal as follows:
Adults and adolescents over 13 years of age 20 drops 3 times a day
Children aged 6 to 12 years 15 drops 3 times a day
Children aged 3 to 5 years 10 drops 3 times a day
There is no general limitation on the duration of application. The duration of administration is determined by the type, severity and course of the disease.
Do not take Iberogast
- if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine
- if you have or have had liver disease, or if you are taking medicines whose leaflet indicates liver damage as an adverse reaction. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Iberogast.
This medicinal product contains approximately 0.24 g of alcohol per dose, equivalent to 6.2 ml of beer or 2.6 ml of wine per dose. Harmful for alcoholics. To be considered in pregnant or lactating women, children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.
If you notice yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark color of urine, change in the color of stool, pain in the upper abdomen, you should immediately stop taking Iberogast and consult a doctor. These can be symptoms of liver damage.
