ADVENT LIFE Vitamin D Deficiency Test
The Vitamin D Rapid Test with a Fingerstick Blood Sample is designed to detect vitamin D deficiency caused by infrequent exposure to sunlight, limited dietary intake, or impaired absorption in the intestinal tract and provides a preliminary result. Vitamin D is particularly important for the human body as it is responsible for the absorption of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphate, and zinc. 25-hydroxyvitamin D is the main storage form of vitamin D in the body, therefore the overall vitamin D status can be determined by detecting the content of 25-hydroxyvitamin D. The test provides a preliminary diagnostic result and can be used to screen for vitamin D deficiency - a 25-hydroxyvitamin D level that is lower than 30 ng/mL with a positive result indicates a deficiency or subnormal levels of vitamin D.
