Glycogen - is a source of carbon and acts as a nutrient for "good" bacteria
•Effectively mimic the vagina's defense mechanism to naturally restore and maintain normal pH and promote the growth of "good" bacteria
•Treatment is as effective as metronidazole 500 mg orally twice daily for 7 days. Lactic acid globules are safe and as effective as metronidazole in the treatment of BV.
•There is evidence that lactic acid, when combined with metronidazole, is better than metronidazole alone in promoting lactobacilli colonization.
