Witch hazel
Witch hazel is one of the most well-known astringents and antiseptics in folk medicine and modern dermatology. Thanks to its high tannin content, it acts as a natural tonic, tightening the skin and shrinking pores. This makes it a particularly good remedy for reducing skin irritation, itching, burning and the risk of infection from chafing or after shaving. Its anti-inflammatory properties contribute to its soothing effect, and the temporary tightening effect in the intimate area is a pleasant sensory bonus.
Menthol
We all know that menthol cools. But how does this happen? The decrease in ambient temperature, which we feel as “cold”, is registered by our nervous system with the help of the so-called TRPM8 receptors of the nervous system. Capturing the signal from the environment, these tiny specialized cells send an instant signal to our brain and so we quickly realize that it has become cold outside.
Menthol cools us in exactly the same way because it has the unique property of binding to our TRPM8 receptors and activating them. In this way, our brain experiences the well-known sensation of cold, with the important difference that we can choose where and when we feel cold, and the particular advantage is that there is no risk of frostbite.

Chamomile
Chamomile is one of the oldest medicinal plants known to mankind. It contains over 120 substances with therapeutic potential, and folk medicine and modern science have found it to be particularly effective for wounds, ulcers, inflammation, burns, and skin irritations.
On the intimate health front, chamomile extract stands out as one of the most promising natural remedies for combating the most common gynecological disease – inflammation of the vagina, also known as vaginitis or colpitis.
Tea tree
Tea tree oil is a natural cocktail of over 100 different compounds that determine its medical use as a topical antiseptic. Its antimicrobial activity has been proven against a wide range of bacteria, viruses and fungi, including yeasts and dermatophytes.
It is currently successfully used alone or as part of the treatment of gynecological conditions such as recurrent labial herpes, vaginitis, as well as infections with Staphylococcus aureus, popular for its resistance to antibiotics.
Unlike many other microbicides, tea tree oil has a selective effect and is gentle on the natural microflora of the vagina. Laboratory experiments have shown that in concentrations sufficient to neutralize common vaginal pathogens such as Candida spp. (causes of vulvovaginal candidiasis), Mobiluncus spp. and Gardnerella vaginalis (causes of bacterial vaginosis), tea tree oil has no negative effect on beneficial lactic acid bacteria.
Lactic acid
Lactic acid is of fundamental importance for women's intimate health. It contributes to maintaining optimal vaginal acidity and is one of the indisputable conditions for the prevention of bacterial vaginosis.
Its antibacterial effect against common pathogens such as chlamydia (Chlamydia trachomatis), gonorrhea (Neisseria gonorrhoeae), gardnerella (Gardnerella vaginalis), Escherichia coli and group B streptococci (Streptococcus agalactiae) has been scientifically confirmed.
It has been found that the vaginal microbiota rich in lactic acid bacteria has a preventive role against the AIDS and herpes viruses. The reason for this lies in the lactic acid produced by them, which has high HIV and HSV (herpes simplex virus) virucidal activity. Lactic acid also has well-studied anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties.
Undecylenic acid
Undecylenic acid is a fatty acid that, in addition to providing comfort in the intimate area with its gentle lubricating effect, also contributes to the protection of the vagina with its pronounced antifungal effect.
Due to its high carbon number, this natural fat is recognized by science as a potent fungicide – over 6 times more effective than caprylic acid. This makes it a reliable aid in the prevention and treatment of fungal infections caused by Candida albicans (vaginal mycosis) and in maintaining a healthy vaginal microflora.
Chlorhexidine
Chlorhexidine gluconate is one of the most widely used vaginal antiseptics with proven bactericidal activity against a large number of microbes associated with the development of gynecological infections. The compound has been shown to begin acting immediately and inhibit bacterial growth for up to 24 hours after application.
Unlike other antiseptics, its activity is not affected by typical hygiene product ingredients such as alcohol and surfactants, as well as by the low pH characteristic of the vagina. Its safety has been confirmed in a wide range of concentrations (0.05–4%), including intravaginal use to reduce infections in parturient women in obstetric settings.
