It is important that the body has sufficient current iron stores. FerritinCHECK© is intended to be used as an aid in the detection of iron deficiency. Iron deficiency is caused by insufficient dietary iron intake and its inadequate absorption or by iron loss due to bleeding (e.g. menstrual bleeding, abnormal bleeding or ulcers) and has serious health consequences. Fatigue, headache, paleness, rapid heartbeat or shortness of breath are possible signs of iron deficiency.
