In this leaflet, for convenience, the medicinal product will be referred to as Gastrobene only.

What is Gastrobene and what is it used for?

This medicine contains sodium alginate, calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate. Sodium alginate forms a protective layer on the surface of the stomach contents ("raft" on the surface of the stomach), which prevents its passage into the esophagus and thus protects it from the irritating action of hydrochloric acid and bile juices. Sodium hydrogen carbonate and calcium carbonate neutralize hydrochloric acid in the stomach As a result of the action of the three active substances, pain, burning and discomfort after eating are alleviated.

Gastrobene is used to relieve and treat heartburn, indigestion, return of stomach contents into the esophagus after eating, incl. and with the so-called reflux esophagitis.

The medicine can be used for such complaints and in pregnant women.
