Therefore, it is especially important for the liver to secrete enough bile, and this is supported by artichoke and milk thistle extracts.
Artichoke extract
To obtain the desired effect, only the leaf extract should be used, because the root of the plant does not contain sufficient amounts of the bioflavonoid cynarin . Cynarin is involved in antioxidant cell protection , and also supports bile production and facilitates peristalsis . Because of this property, artichoke extract can help with various gastrointestinal ailments, such as bloating, constipation, etc.
Milk thistle
Milk thistle fruit extract contains a large amount of flavonolignans. In the past, it was used for liver and bile problems, and also to reduce high cholesterol levels. The most valuable ingredient of this extract is the flavonoid silymarin . Its beneficial effect on the liver has long been known to traditional medicine and has been the subject of numerous studies. Silymarin has antioxidant properties, supports complex metabolic processes in liver cells - the "laboratory" of the body. It is known to contribute to cell regeneration, while suppressing fibrotic processes, and can also have a beneficial effect on the action of some toxins , such as alcohol.
