Pharmaceutical form:
Gelatin capsules
Pharmacological data:
- Diuretic effect:
The flavonoids in the fennel extract increased diuresis by 88% at 24 hours after oral administration. They increase osmotic diuresis, accelerate renal blood flow, and increase glomerular filtration through vasodilation through increased NO production.
The diuretic and saluretic effects of the flavonoid leucarposide, which are the result of inhibition of angiotensin convertase and neutral endopeptidase, have been pharmacologically confirmed and documented. leucarposide is less toxic.
- The diuretic effect of leucarposide occurs later (after 5 hours), but lasts longer (up to 24 hours).
- Leiocarposide does not exhibit synergistic properties with flavonoids and saponins from the same extract.
- It does not affect urinary Na, K and Ca excretion, as well as pH.
High diuresis stimulates the peristalsis of the ureters, improves the drainage of the cavity system, dilutes the urine and suppresses the sedimentation of salts, successfully evacuates pathogenic agents, corrects the pH and electrolyte composition, and hypo- and isosmium suppress the growth of bacteria, including L-forms.
- Antibacterial effect:
Phenolic glycosides - leucarboside and virgoureoside, catechin tannins, phenolic acids and triterpene saponins have a moderate direct antibacterial effect. The direct effect against L-forms helps to prevent chronification and relapses of the infection. Tannins stimulate phagocytosis and cell-mediated immunity and suppress the adhesion of bacterial colonies to the bladder walls. Triterpene saponins inhibit yeast growth.
- Anti-inflammatory effect:
Flavonoids and saponins suppress mast cell degranulation and the release of inflammatory mediators.
- Anti-gout effect:
Flavonoids stimulate uric acid excretion by inhibiting xanthine oxidase and xanthine dehydrogenase and stimulating diuresis.
- Astringent action:
Tannins contract the epithelial tissue along the course of the genitourinary tract.
- Antispasmodic action:
Uronat® has 60% of the antispasmodic effect of papaverine.
