Selenium is a powerful antioxidant that protects the body from the harmful influence of free radicals, supports the cardiovascular system, lungs, prostate and colon functions. It supports the functioning of the immune system and is of great importance for the normal functioning of the thyroid gland.

Its anti-inflammatory properties help relieve the symptoms of arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, as well as reduce the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. Selenium also helps reduce the frequency and severity of herpes simplex and herpes zoster.

Jamieson's Selenium is extracted from Selenium yeast. This form is better absorbed by the body.

Contents:

1 tablet contains: Selenium (selenium yeast) 100 mcg.

Also contains: dicalcium phosphate, anti-caking agent: vegetable magnesium stearate, cellulose, modified cellulose gum.

It does not contain artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.

Dosage:

One package contains 100 tablets.

Recommended dose: 1 tablet twice a day during meals.

Interaction with other drugs:

Glucocorticoids (cortisol anti-inflammatory drugs) and anti-convulsant/anti-epileptic drugs can reduce the amount of selenium in the body.

Persons who are on parenteral nutrition for a longer period are at risk of selenium deficiency.

Food interactions :

lack of iron and copper increases the risk of selenium deficiency.

Selenium deficiency can worsen the effects of iodine deficiency in the thyroid gland.

Potentiating interactions:

vitamin E increases the effectiveness of selenium.

Warning: before taking the product , consult your doctor if you have had non-melanoma skin cancer.

Toxicity, Adverse Reactions and Side Effects:

do not exceed the recommended dose. Doses higher than 400 mcg have been associated with hair and nail loss, itchy skin, nausea, garlic breath, fatigue, irritability, depression, anxiety.
