Astaxanthin is an antioxidant found in algae and various marine animals. It belongs to the group of natural pigments known as xanthophylls and is in the family of phytochemicals in plants such as beta-carotene, lutein and lycopene. Salmon, lobsters, shrimps, crabs, flamingos owe their red or pink color to it. It is fat soluble and absorption is thought to be improved when taken with food rich in fat or in capsules with fat.
Each Terranova nutritional supplement is fortified with a proprietary synergistic complex of phytonutrient-rich plants and foods called Magnifood. Magnifood ingredients are combined in a way that improves the body's biochemical environment to maximize the potential benefits of vitamins, minerals and/or other nutrients. Many of the plants used in Magnifood are fresh frozen and dried, as this process has the unique ability to preserve the enzymes in the plants and is superior to other food drying methods.
Method of use:
It is taken as a food supplement for adults, 1 capsule per day with food.
