Ashwagandha, also called Indian ginseng, is a popular herb in traditional Indian medicine. In India, its dried root has been used to strengthen the body. Today, ashwagandha is considered a calming adaptogen - it is believed to have a beneficial effect on conditions such as stress, insomnia and anxiety.
Method of use:
The recommended daily dose is 1 tsp. per day, divided into 2 or 3 doses. If you are taking ashwagandha for the first time, start with 1/2 tsp. per day and gradually increase the amount. Add to warm water, fresh or shake, preferably before bed. Do not take ashwagandha if you are sensitive to plants from the Potato family, as well as if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have thyroid disease, or have elevated blood iron levels.
