MGO 85+ Raw Multiflora Manuka Honey is a superfood produced in New Zealand. The honey is unpasteurized and minimally processed. Its origin is guaranteed by the traceability code printed on the jar label, which can be used to identify exactly which hive it was harvested from. The product is a multiflora honey with a predominance of flowers from the local manuka myrtle tree (Leptospermum scoparium). Thanks to a unique extraction technology, the honey retains all the qualities of fresh honeycomb honey, including the bioavailable and nutrient-rich “bee bread” (pollen used as food by bees).
Manuka honey is rich in zinc, calcium, potassium, iron, and B vitamins. Unlike most bee products, which lose their antibacterial properties when exposed to light and heat, Manuka honey retains them.
Manuka honey is distinguished by three unique ingredients:
MGO (methylglyoxal)
A substance found in the highest amounts in manuka honey, which fights fungi and bacteria and is responsible for the antimicrobial properties of the product. The product “MGO 85 + Raw Multifloral Manuka Honey” has a lower index, making it suitable as a sweetener for everyday use.
Leptosperin
It is found only in the nectar of the manuka plant and several other related plants.
DHA (dihydroxyacetone)
A substance that is unique to manuka honey and is converted to MGO.
