Babies often "regurgitate" small amounts of milk after feeding (a normal manifestation of physiological regurgitation). Some babies may suffer from more frequent regurgitation at times.
Research has allowed us to develop our patented Aptamil ® AR 1 milk, a food with complete nutritional content and a specifically adapted composition to meet the nutritional needs of infants with frequent regurgitation .

- Locust bean gum ( LBG ) is a natural thickener: the dietary fiber contained in locust bean gum has the property of thickening food by absorbing water, thus helping the food not to regurgitate. Food thickening is a key element used in regurgitation diet therapy.
Aptamil ® AR 1 not suitable for premature babies and for infants with a diagnosed cow's milk protein allergy with regurgitation.
Important Note: Breastfeeding is best for babies
Aptamil® AR 1 should only be used under medical supervision. Milk is suitable for use as the sole source of nutrition for infants up to 6 months of age until appropriate complementary feeding is introduced when using as prescribed by a physician when not breastfeeding. Partial bottle feeding can adversely affect breastfeeding and make it difficult to recover, and your baby may not want to continue breastfeeding. Follow the instructions for preparing the milk strictly. Do not leave the baby alone during feeding. Improper use and/or preparation may
endanger your baby's health. After 6 months of age, on the recommendation of your doctor or other healthcare professional in the field of child care, gradually introduce foods suitable for feeding.

FOOD INSTRUCTIONS
Aptamil® AR 1 for infants from birth to 6 months of age
IT IS FOR ENTERAL ADMINISTRATION ONLY!
Aptamil® AR 1 should only be given with strict adherence to the diet and nutritional advice prescribed by a doctor. The table of instructions below is only indicative, it is possible that your baby needs more or less amount than indicated.

With standard solution: 100 ml Aptamil® AR 1 = 90 ml water cooled to 40 o C (preferably) + 3 leveled measuring spoons = 276 kJ (66 kcal). 1 level scoop = 4.6 g. Use only the measuring spoon from the package. Do not prepare a more saturated or less concentrated solution than directed.
Preparing food for your baby:
- Always wash your hands and sterilize all dishes and utensils you use to prepare food by boiling for 10 minutes.
- Sterilize the bottle, teat or cup by boiling in boiling water for 10 minutes.
- Boil clean drinking water for 10 minutes and let it cool. Pour the amount of pre-boiled and cooled water recommended in the table into the sterilized feeding bottle/cup.
- Add the number of leveled scoops of Aptamil® AR 1 milk powder recommended in the feeding guide table to the bottle/cup. Flatten each scoop using the blunt side of a clean knife. Do not overfill or press the powdered milk.
- Close the bottle/beaker and shake vigorously until the dry substance is completely dissolved. Place a sterilized teat on the bottle. Before feeding, check the temperature of the milk by putting a drop on the inside of your wrist. Use the milk immediately after preparation.
- Clean the bottle, teat or cup immediately after feeding. Do not re-feed with the rest of the milk. Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place, but not in the refrigerator. Use within three weeks after opening the package.
Moving on to the next stage
After 6 months of age, it is recommended to gradually replace Aptamil® AR 1 with Aptamil® AR 2.
Tips for storing and using milk
For hygiene reasons, do not store the prepared food and throw away the rest of the milk up to 1 hour after feeding. Do not heat the milk in a microwave oven due to the risk of hot spots forming in the milk, which can cause burns. Do not freeze. Store milk powder in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry place, but not in the refrigerator. Use within three weeks after opening the package.
