XALLERGAN oral drops 5mg/ml 20ml
Purpose:
Xalergan is an antiallergic medicinal product that contains levocetirizine dihydrochloride as an active substance.
It is used to treat in adults and children over 2 years of age the manifestations of:
· allergic rhinitis (hay fever), incl. persistent (prolonged) allergic rhinitis;
· hives (urticaria).
Active ingredients:
1 ml (20 drops) of solution contains 5 mg of levocetirizine dihydrochloride.
Dosage and method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
Adults and children over 6 years of age – 20 drops once a day.
Children aged 2 - 6 years - 5 drops twice a day.
Special instructions for certain groups of patients:
People with impaired kidney function should take a lower dose, depending on the severity of the kidney disease. For children with kidney disease, the dose should be adjusted according to body weight.
Patients with severe impairment of renal function should not take this medicine.
Individuals who have only impaired liver function can take the usual prescribed dose.
In the event that there is a simultaneous violation of liver and kidney function, a lower dose is required, taking into account the severity of the kidney disease. The doctor will determine the dose, and for children it will be based on body weight.
In elderly patients, no dose adjustment is necessary if renal function is preserved.
Method of application
Xalergan is intended for oral administration. The drops can be placed in a spoon before taking or diluted with a little water. The solution should be taken immediately.
The amount of water in which the drops are placed should be in accordance with the amount of water that the patient can take.
Duration of application
The duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor depending on the type, severity and progression of your disease.
