Canesten cream for the treatment of fungal infections (mycosis) on the skin and legs x 20 g, Bayer
Description of the product:
Canesten cream contains the active ingredient clotrimazole and is recommended for the treatment of fungal diseases (mycoses) of the skin and mucous membranes caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other organisms, and erythrasma.
In women for the treatment of fungal infections of the labia and surrounding areas, and in men for the treatment of inflammation of the glans penis and foreskin caused by fungi (candidal vulvitis and candidal balanitis).
If after 4 weeks you do not feel better or your condition worsens, you should seek medical attention
Clotrimazole, the active substance in Canesten cream, passes through the infected areas of the skin and destroys the fungus. As a result, they die or their growth stops.
Application:
For local application. Canesten cream is applied 2 to 3 times a day, applying a thin layer and rubbing gently until the cream penetrates the skin. About 0.5 cm of cream is enough to treat an area the size of a palm.
To ensure complete cure, depending on the indication, treatment with Canesten Cream should be continued even if symptoms have disappeared according to the duration of treatment as indicated below.
Duration of treatment:
- skin mycoses: 3 to 4 weeks;
- erythrasma: 2 to 4 weeks;
- pityriasis vesicolor: 1 to 3 weeks;
- candidal vulvitis and candidal balanitis: 1 to 2 weeks.
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Active substance: clotrimazole. 1 g of cream contains 0.01 g of clotrimazole (1%).

Precautions:
Consult a doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms: high fever (temperature 38°C and above, abdominal pain, back pain, foul-smelling vaginal discharge, nausea, vaginal bleeding and/or shoulder pain).
Canes cream may reduce the effectiveness, and thus the safety, of latex products such as condoms and diaphragms if used at the same time.
Do not use Canesten cream if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, or if you have had allergic reactions to other medicines containing clotrimazole.
Clotrimazole can be used during pregnancy, but only under the supervision of a doctor.
Clotrimazole can be used during breastfeeding. If used topically on the nipple area, wash the breast before feeding.
