1. What is BISACODIL SOPHARMA SUPPOSITORIES and what is it used for.
Bisacodyl in the form of suppositories is a laxative, purgative medicinal product. Bisacodyl stimulates peristalsis of the large intestine by direct action on the nerve endings of the intestinal mucosa.
The product is used for short-term symptomatic treatment of constipation (constipation) with weakened tone and peristalsis of the large intestine, to cleanse the intestines before surgical or diagnostic procedures.
2. Before using BIZACODIL SOPHARMA SUPPOSITORIES
Do not use Bizacodil Sopharma suppositories:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of the product;
- if you have sharp abdominal pains (they may be symptoms of a condition called "acute abdomen" which requires surgery);
- if you have rectal bleeding;
- in case of acute enterocolitis;
- with intestinal obstruction;
- if you are dehydrated (dehydrated);
- if you have an established colon tumor.
Pay special attention when using Bizacodil Sopharma suppositories
- Do not apply for a long time (more than 5 days) in the case of unexplained cause of constipation.
- Prolonged and unreasonable application of the product should be avoided.

3. How to use BISACODIL SOPHARMA SUPPOSITORIES
Always use Bizacodil Sopharma suppositories exactly as described in this leaflet. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Dosage
Short-term treatment of constipation
Adults and children over 10 years: 1 suppository of 10 mg daily for an immediate effect.
Children from 2 to 10 years: 1 suppository of 5 mg daily for an immediate effect.
Children 10 years of age and younger with chronic constipation can be treated with bisacodyl after consultation with the attending physician.
Bisacodyl should not be used in children under 2 years of age.
Preparation for diagnostic procedures or preoperative preparation
It should only be used under medical supervision.
Adults and children over 10 years old
2 bisacodyl tablets (10 mg) morning and evening, followed by 1 suppository (10 mg) the next morning
Children from 4 to 10 years
1 bisacodyl tablet (5 mg) in the evening, followed by 1 suppository (5 mg) the next morning.
Application method
Bisacodyl Sopharma suppositories are administered rectally. Their action usually occurs 30 minutes after application.
The duration of treatment of constipation with the product should not be more than 7 days.
