- What Nalgesin is and what it is used for
Nalgesin relieves pain and inflammation and lowers elevated body temperature.
It works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins. The tablets are rapidly soluble, which results in a rapid analgesic effect.
It is used for short-term symptomatic treatment of pain.
Nalgesin relieves:
- headache and toothache,
- pain in muscles, joints and spine,
- migraine,
- menstrual pains,
- muscle and joint pain due to flu and cold.
In infectious diseases, it lowers elevated body temperature and relieves the inflammatory process.
- What you need to know before you take Nalgesin
Inform your doctor if you suffer from a chronic or metabolic disease, if you are hypersensitive or are taking other medications.
Do not take Nalgesin
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, to acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Nalgesin.
- when the painful area is red or swollen;
- if you regularly take other medicines;
- if you are under medical supervision because you suffer from certain chronic diseases;
- if you have had serious side effects after taking certain other pain-relieving medicines.
You should stop taking Nalgesin and consult a doctor:
- if new or unexpected symptoms occur;
- if symptoms persist or even worsen;
- if you have difficulty swallowing;
- if heartburn or stomach pain occurs.
Medicines such as Nalgesin may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attack (myocardial infarction) or stroke. Each risk is more likely with high doses and long-term treatment. Do not exceed the recommended dose and duration of treatment (3 days for lowering high body temperature or 10 days for relieving pain).
If you have heart problems, have had a stroke or think you may be at risk of these conditions (for example, if you have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol or are a smoker), you should discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist.
If you drink alcoholic beverages regularly (three or more drinks per day), discuss the use of Nalgesin with your doctor. In combination with alcohol, Nalgesin may increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
If you have already taken other medicines to relieve pain or reduce elevated body temperature and have experienced hives, facial swelling, an asthma attack or even shock, do not take Nalgesin without consulting a doctor.
Nalgesin contains sodium
