Indications
Levaxan® is used to treat temporary anxiety.
Anxiety can include one or more temporary symptoms, such as worry that is difficult to control, restlessness, tension, or sleep disturbance.
Levaxan® is indicated in adults.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
Adults:
You should take one softgel once a day at approximately the same time.
You should not take Levaxan® for longer than 3 months. If your symptoms do not improve after 1 month of treatment or if your symptoms worsen, you should consult your doctor.
The soft capsules should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of water).
Levaxan® should not be taken in a lying position.
Levaxan® should not be taken by persons under the age of 18.
Composition
What Levaxan® contains
1 soft capsule contains:
- Active ingredient: 80 mg of narrow-leaved lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia Miller. aetheroleum), (lavender oil, Silexan®).
- The other ingredients (excipients) are: composition of capsule contents: refined rapeseed oil. Capsule shell: succinylated gelatin; glycerol 85%; sorbitol 70%, liquid (non-crystallizing); aluminum salt of carminic acid (E 120); aluminum salt of patent blue V (E 131); titanium dioxide (E 171).
Warnings and precautions
If you suffer from excessive anxiety and/or worry that is difficult to control and/or you have three or more anxiety-related symptoms (e.g. restlessness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, sleep disturbance) for a longer period of time, you should consult a doctor because you may be suffering from a mental illness that requires medical supervision.
If you feel that your symptoms remain unchanged after one month of treatment or if your symptoms worsen, talk to your doctor.
The use of Levaxan® is not recommended in patients suffering from severe renal impairment requiring dialysis, as clinical data are lacking.
There are only limited data on the use of Levaxan® in patients over 65 years of age.
