Hypercholesterolemia
TORVACARD is indicated as an adjunct to diet for the reduction of elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apolipoprotein B and triglycerides in adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age with primary hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous variant) or combined (mixed) hyperlipidemia (corresponding to type IIa and type IIb of the Fredrickson classification) when the effect of diet and other non-pharmacological methods is insufficient.
TORVACARD is also indicated for the reduction of total cholesterol and LDL-C in adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering methods (e.g. LDL apheresis), or in cases where these methods are not available.
Prevention of cardiovascular disease
Prevention of cardiovascular events in adult patients assessed as being at high risk for a first cardiovascular event (see section 5.1), as an adjunct to correction of other risk factors.
