Peony is an herbaceous plant grown in Asia and traditionally used for its soothing properties. We chose the species Paeonia lactiflora Pall for its richness in paeoniflorin, a molecule with scientifically proven anti-irritant, soothing and antioxidant properties.
We cultivate peonies in China, in the provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu, protecting the surrounding ecosystem and controlling the quality of the harvested plants according to the standards of the phytochain® Klorane. We hand-pick the roots of each plant, which are then peeled, steamed and sun-dried. From these roots, we concentrate an extract whose soothing and anti-irritant properties are patented* and put it into Klorane
