Postbiotics and your gut health
The gut microbiota is made up of over 100 trillion bacteria that live in the intestines and perform various important functions in the body. Over time, repeated antibiotic use and poor diet can have negative effects on the diversity of the microbiota, which in turn leads to various health problems, including digestive disorders, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and more.
Postbiotics are heat-treated inactivated probiotics that release substances synthesized by their vital activity: cellular components and short-chain fatty acids. Their advantages over probiotics are that postbiotics preserve and even build on the beneficial effects of probiotics, but are resistant to antibiotics, avoid the risk of administering probiotics with live microorganisms to patients with concomitant diseases and a compromised immune system, and are easily and long-term stored without a special regime.
Butyrin contains high-quality ingredients that support normal intestinal function and the immune system.
Calcium butyrate
A source of butyric acid, which is the main source of energy for intestinal cells. It also performs a number of other key functions: it has an anti-inflammatory effect, maintains intestinal barrier function, stimulates a favorable bacterial balance, improves intestinal peristalsis and regulates the immune response.
Lactobacillus acidophilus (postbiotic)
Lactobacilli belong to the group of lactic acid bacteria and are associated with the production of lactic acid from carbohydrates, which makes them important for the fermentation of foods. The use of postbiotic L. acidophilus has shown effectiveness in the treatment of acute diarrhea, chronic diarrhea, diarrhea caused by antibiotics, as well as improving the condition of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Bifidobacterium bifidum (postbiotic)
Bifidobacteria are some of the most common bacteria in the gut. The most important effects of the postbiotic Bifidobacterium bifidum in the human body are related to antibacterial activity against pathogens such as Helicobacter pylori, modulation of the immune system and alleviation of inflammation associated with some chronic colon dysfunctions.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A has a number of positive effects on gastrointestinal health. It helps regulate the growth and differentiation of epithelial cells that form the protective barrier of the intestine. Vitamin A is also essential for the regulation of immune responses with its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects.
B vitamins
Vitamins B2, B3 and B7 (biotin) play important roles in the normal functioning of the intestines. They are necessary for the metabolism of all beneficial microorganisms, protect the cells of the intestinal epithelium, participate in the regulation of intestinal permeability and have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D plays a key role in maintaining a balanced microbiota. It modulates the immune response and protects against inflammation, stimulates the growth of beneficial bacteria, protects against pathogens, and aids in the absorption of key nutrients.
