Glandol is a synergistic combination of gamma-linolenic acid from borage oil, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D, which contributes to maintaining normal skin condition and healthy hormonal balance and psyche during the menstrual cycle.
The product helps reduce water loss and maintain skin moisture, the loss of which is a prerequisite for the appearance of itching, rashes and irritations. In addition, it contributes to reducing menstrual discomfort by relieving sore breasts, reducing irritability and affecting other symptoms associated with PMS.
Glandol's formula is high in essential polyunsaturated fatty acids:
· gamma-linolenic acid (GLA, omega-6) from borage oil;
· docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, omega-3) from EPAX 6015 TG fish oil concentrate;
· eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, omega-3) from EPAX 6015 TG fish oil concentrate.
These fats are called essential or irreplaceable because the human body does not have the ability to produce them and must be obtained through food. They are of key importance for the physiology and structure of the skin, and their levels are decisive for the flexibility and permeability of cell membranes.
They also serve as starting materials for the production of compounds that interact with the skin's immune system and are important for the normal response of tissues to changes in hormonal levels during menstruation.

Recommended dosage:
· Children over 4 years of age: 3 Glandol capsules, divided into 3 doses during the day.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 5 capsules, divided into 3 doses during the day.
For optimal effect, take for 3 to 6 months.
· For PMS: 2 capsules of Glandol 3 times daily 7 to 14 days before and 7 days after the start of menstruation.

Role of unsaturated fatty acids in skin health...
A suspected cause of atopic dermatitis is defective metabolism of essential fatty acids, especially gamma-linolenic acid, resulting in the accumulation of pro-inflammatory substances. It has been found (Foster, et.al., 2010) that borage oil supplementation switches the metabolism of GLA towards the production of anti-inflammatory mediators.
Other studies have shown that an optimal balance of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids is important for counteracting and preventing inflammation. The balance between the two types of fats is important here, as excessive intake of omega-6 can enhance the immune response and inflammatory processes, while intake of omega-3 acts to reduce the immune response and inflammation.
Glandol capsules combine the positive effect of gamma-linolenic acid on the skin with the anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3 fatty acids. An advantage of the combination of γ-linolenic acid and omega-3 is that eicosapentaenoic acid prevents a significant increase in the level of arachidonic acid, compared to the use of γ-linolenic acid alone.

Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is formed in the body from linoleic acid. It is known that PMS can be caused by a disorder in the conversion of linoleic acid to GLA, which changes the sensitivity of tissues and they begin to respond abnormally to normal levels of estrogen and progesterone (de Souza, Walker, 1998; Fan, Chapkin, 1998)
Women who cannot adequately convert linoleic acid to GLA have more inflammatory prostaglandins that worsen PMS symptoms (Mills, David, 1996)
Studies from Japan, Finland and the UK have shown that women suffering from PMS have lower blood levels of GLA and dihomo-γ-linolenic acid, although their linoleic acid levels are higher (Johnson et al, 1997).
Further support for the role of GLA in PMS comes from six double-blind, placebo-controlled studies that showed significant improvement in symptoms with daily intake of γ-linolenic acid (EFSA Journal 2011).
