PROFICHOL contains a special combination of red rice extract (standardized to monocolin K-phytostatin content) and vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid and contributes to the control of blood cholesterol levels (LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides) and homocysteine metabolism .

Safe levels of cholesterol, along with good metabolism of homocysteine in the blood, are factors that influence the good work and health of the heart and the entire circulatory system.

Monacolin K is a natural phytostatin extracted from fermented red rice fermented with the fungus Monascus purpureus. Monacolin K – like statins – stops the action of the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase). HMG-CoA reductase is a liver enzyme that regulates the amount of synthesized cholesterol, while simultaneously influencing (together with HDL) the level of LDL-cholesterol in the plasma.

Vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid additionally contribute to the good metabolism of homocysteine in the body.
