SOLGAR BREWERS YEAST WITH VITAMIN B12 x 250 tabl
Purpose:
Brewer's yeast is a rich source of B vitamins, protein (containing all essential amino acids), and minerals (including chromium).
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is involved as a coenzyme needed to convert carbohydrates into glucose, which is used as an energy source; it is necessary for the functioning of the nervous system (vitamin B1 deficiency can cause beriberi, a disease characterized by weakness, paralysis, and edema).
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) acts as a coenzyme activating the breakdown and utilization of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins; it is necessary for cellular oxidation and its deficiency can cause tissue inflammation and hypersensitivity to bright light.
Vitamin B3 (niacin) is converted into the active coenzymes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP+), which are necessary for many processes such as: energy production; synthesis of many hormones and genetic information (DNA); metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, cholesterol and proteins; and tissue growth. Niacin lowers cholesterol levels mainly by reducing its production by the liver. Vitamin B3 increases the level of “good” cholesterol (HDL) and reduces the levels of lipoprotein A (which carries and deposits cholesterol in damaged areas of the arteries; and prevents the breakdown of blood clots); triglycerides and fibrinogen (a protein involved in the formation of blood clots).
Improves blood circulation. Increases histamine levels.
Vitamin B6 participates as a coenzyme activating the breakdown and use of carbohydrates, fats and proteins; facilitates the release of glycogen for energy from the liver and muscles; participates in the use of energy by the brain and nervous tissue; is necessary for the regulation of the central nervous system and hormonal balance, the optimal state of the cardiovascular system.
Vitamin B12 is involved as a coenzyme necessary for the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. It is needed for the formation of: red blood cells; hemoglobin; neurotransmitters (substances that transmit information in the brain) responsible for memory, mood, etc.; the amino acid methionine
(it lowers the levels of harmful homocysteine); phospholipids in cell membranes and myelin sheaths, which cover and protect nerve cells, and also accelerate the transmission of nerve impulses.
Cell reproduction (division) and a healthy cardiovascular system depend on vitamin B12.
