STEENS Monofloral Manuka Honig / Monofloral Manuka Honey 829+ MGO, 20+ UMF x 225 g

Steens Raw Manuka Honey UMF 20+ MGO 829 from New Zealand is a medicinal product. The honey is unpasteurized, with minimal processing at the hive temperature.

Monofloral honey is extracted from the flowers of the native manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium). Thanks to the extraction technology developed by the manufacturer, the honey retains all the qualities of fresh honeycomb honey. What is unique about Steens manuka honey is that it also contains the so-called “bee bread” – the pollen that bees use for food. A traceability code is printed on the label of each jar of manuka honey, so that the consumer is sure of the origin of the product.

Manuka honey contains large amounts of zinc, calcium, potassium, iron, and B vitamins, and unlike other bee products, it does not lose them during heat treatment.

Specific to Manuka honey are the three ingredients
MGO (methylglyoxal)
Antibacterial and antifungal substance in large quantities. The product has a high MGO index of 829 and is defined as medicinal. It is not suitable for daily use and for young children. Its standardization by UMF (unique manuka factor) is also high (20+), which is a guarantee of the strength of the honey's qualities.
Leptosperin
It is found only in the nectar of the manuka plant and several other related plants.
DHA (dihydroxyacetone)
A substance that is unique to manuka honey and is converted to MGO.
