THERAFLU MAX for colds and coughs x 10 sachets
Medicinal product in the form of a hot drink for flu and cold symptoms from the Glaxo brand. Teraflu Max Cold and Cough relieves the symptoms of colds, chills and flu, such as mild to moderate pain, fever, fever, stuffy nose and productive cough. Teraflu Max contains three active ingredients:
►Paracetamol - affects pain and fever (lowers temperature when you have a fever)
►Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a nasal decongestant – it unclogs the nose and helps you breathe easier by decongesting the nasal mucosa
►Guaiphenesin is an expectorant that breaks down secretions and relieves a productive cough.
Use Teraflu Max Cold and Cough ONLY if you have ALL of the symptoms listed: pain and/or fever, stuffy nose, and productive cough. If after 3 days you do not feel better or your condition worsens, if the cough is accompanied by a very high fever, a skin rash or a constant headache, you should seek medical help.
Ingredients: Paracetamol - 1000 mg, Phenylephrine hydrochloride - 12.2 mg, Guaifenesin - 200 mg.
The recommended dose is:
Adults, elderly patients and adolescents aged 16 years and over, weighing more than 50 kg: 1 sachet every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 3 sachets in 24 hours.
Unwanted reactions:
Like all medicines, Teraflu Max Cold and Cough powder for oral solution can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
STOP taking Teraflu Max Cold and Cough powder for oral solution and tell your doctor immediately if you get:
►allergic reaction, including wheezing, shortness of breath, swelling of the face or mouth;
►skin rash (including urticaria, itching), reddening of the skin;
►skin peeling, blisters, sores, mouth ulcers;
►blood disorders, including unusual bleeding or bruising;
►yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice). These could be symptoms of a liver problem.
The side effects listed above are rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people) or very rare. In particular, serious skin reactions are very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people).
The following side effects may occur in rare or very rare cases (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 or 1 in 10,000 people). If you get any of these, tell your doctor:
►stomach pain or discomfort (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting);
►headache or dizziness;
►high blood pressure, palpitations or palpitations;
►sleep disturbances, restlessness, nervousness, irritability or confusion;
►difficult breathing;
►dilation of the pupil, increased pressure in the eye.
Liver function test results (or values) may show an abnormality in rare cases.

When should Teraflu Max not be used?
Teraflu Max Cold and Cough powder for oral solution should not be used in adults, elderly patients and adolescents over 16 years of age, weighing less than 50 kg. Do not take more than the maximum indicated dose. Do not give to children under 16 years of age.
DO NOT take Teraflu Max Cold and Cough powder for oral solution if:
►you are allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride, guaifenesin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in item 6 and the end of item 2);
►you have heart disease or high blood pressure (hypertension); you have diabetes;
► you have hyperfunction of the thyroid gland;
►you have angle-closure glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure);
►you have a pheochromocytoma (a type of tumor of the adrenal gland located near the kidneys);
►you are taking or have taken in the last 14 days monoamine oxidase inhibitors (medicines affecting depression or Parkinson's disease);
►you are taking tricyclic antidepressants;
►you are taking beta-blockers (medicines used to treat high blood pressure and heart problems);
►you are taking other sympathomimetic drugs such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants.

Warnings and precautions
►It is important to use Teraflu Max Cold and Cough powder for oral solution ONLY if you have all the symptoms listed: pain and/or fever, stuffy nose and productive cough.
►The product contains paracetamol. DO NOT take with other products containing paracetamol. Serious liver damage can occur as a result of paracetamol overdose.
►In general, the usual intake of pain relievers, especially a combination of several analgesic substances, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.
►Do not drink alcoholic beverages while using this medicine.
►Do not take together with other cough, cold or nasal decongestant products (nasal decongestants).
Consult a doctor if your symptoms last more than 3 days, get worse or the cough is accompanied by a high fever, skin rash and constant headache.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Teraflu Max Cold and Cough if you have:
►cardiovascular problems;
►liver problems;
►kidney problems;
►enlarged prostate, as you may retain urine;
►blood circulation problems (e.g. Raynaud's syndrome);
►mild jaundice (Gilbert's syndrome);
►glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (enzyme deficiency);
►abnormal destruction of red blood cells (hemolytic anemia);
►dehydration or chronic malnutrition;
►chronic cough, asthma or emphysema (lung disease).
Children and adolescents:
Do not give this medicine to children and adolescents under 16 years of age or to adolescents between 16-18 years of age who weigh less than 50 kg.
Other medicines and Teraflu Max:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, especially:
►medicinal products for heart disorders and heart rhythm abnormalities (digoxin and other cardiac glycosides);
►medicines that affect blood clotting (anticoagulants), such as warfarin or other coumarins;
►anti-nausea and vomiting medicines, such as metoclopramide or domperidone;
►medicinal products for tuberculosis (rifampicin and isoniazid), for bacterial infections (chloramphenicol);
►medicines to treat seizures, such as lamotrigine, phenytoin, phenobarbital and carbamazepine;
►cholestyramine, used to lower cholesterol;
►zidovudine (AZT), used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (AIDS) infections;
►probenicide, to treat gout;
►ergotamine or methylsergide for migraine;
►medicines used to treat runny nose or mild pain (salicylates / salicylamide);
►medicinal products containing paracetamol or nasal decongestants for colds and flu;
►halogenated anesthetics used in anesthesia before surgery;
►alert the doctor that you are taking this medicine if you have a urine test.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Do not take Teraflu Cold and Cough powder for oral solution if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Driving and using machines:
This product may cause dizziness. In such cases, do not drive or operate machinery.
Overdose:
If you have taken more than the required dose of Teraflu Max Cold and Cough powder for oral solution
If you accidentally take more of the medicinal product, seek medical help immediately, even if you feel well, because there is a risk of delayed serious liver damage.
If you forget to take Teraflu Max Cold and Cough powder for oral solution
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible, unless it is almost time for your next dose. If so, continue treatment as directed. Always leave an interval of at least 4 hours between 2 doses. Never take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
