Contractubex is a dermatological product for topical use in the treatment of scars.
Contractubex is used to treat rough, overgrown, red, swollen, movement-restricting and cosmetic scars after surgeries, amputations, burns and injuries.
Contractubex has a softening and smoothing effect on hardened, overgrown, painful and cosmetically damaged skin tissue. Heparin facilitates hydration (water binding capacity) of the hardened tissue, thus causing swelling and relaxation of the scars.
When should you not use Contractubex?
Contractubex should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to methyl parahydroxybenzoate or other ingredients of the product.
Warnings:
- When treating fresh scars, physical irritation such as extreme cold or exposure to ultraviolet light, as well as intensive rubbing of the gel, should be avoided.
- Contractubex contains sorbic acid - it has an irritating effect and can cause dermatitis (skin inflammation).
Method of use:
If there are no specific instructions from a doctor, Contractubex is rubbed with a light massage onto the skin or scar until the gel is completely absorbed, several times a day (2-3 times). In cases of old and hard scars, after applying the gel, a bandage is applied and left to act overnight.
Depending on the size of the scar, the treatment takes several weeks or months (on average up to 6 months, for old and persistent scars up to 1 year).
Adverse reactions:
Cotractubex is generally very well tolerated, even with prolonged use. Skin irritation, such as skin inflammation, skin rashes and itching, can be expected in very rare cases.
If you experience any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
