Purpose:
Relieving swelling and symptoms associated with chronic venous insufficiency

Hydrosmin is a medicinal substance belonging to the group of flavonoids and acting on the consequences of venous stasis of blood in the veins of the lower extremities (known as venous insufficiency), usually due to varicose veins or old venous thrombosis. Venosmil is used for short-term relief (two to three months) of edema and symptoms associated with chronic venous insufficiency (pain, heaviness in the legs, swelling, etc.).
What you need to know before taking venosmil
Please consult your doctor if any of the following situations occur:
Do not take Venosmil
If you experience hypersensitivity reactions to the active substance or any of the ingredients of the medicinal product listed in section 6.
Warnings and precautions
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Venosmil.
- Venosmil should not be used to treat edema caused by heart, kidney or liver failure. In this case, treatment should be directed at the underlying causes.
If there is no improvement in symptoms, you should contact your doctor.
Taking other medications
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
No incompatibilities with other drugs have been observed.
Children and adolescents
Not recommended for use in children.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
Tell your doctor if you think you are or might be pregnant. Ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
Although animal studies have not shown any signs of teratogenicity (fetal malformations), no additional studies are available in pregnancy and lactation.
Venosmil is not recommended during pregnancy, especially up to the 3rd month of pregnancy, unless the benefit outweighs the risk.
Driving and using machines
No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed. It is unlikely that Hydrosmin will have an effect on your ability to drive or use machines.
How to take Venosmil
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
Adults:
The usual daily dose of Venosmil is one 200 mg capsule, three times a day with meals.
Elderly patients, with renal or hepatic impairment
There are no studies in these groups, and the medication prescribed is at the discretion of your doctor.
Application
After removal from the blister, the capsule should be taken immediately with a glass of water or other liquid to facilitate swallowing.
If you take more Venosmil than you should
Take Venosmil only as prescribed.
There have been reports of overdose and/or intoxication.
If you accidentally take a higher dose of Venosmil, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
If you forget to take Venosmil
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you miss your daily dose, take the next dose as prescribed by your doctor.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
This medication is usually well tolerated.
The most commonly observed adverse reactions are either from the digestive tract (stomach pain, nausea), or from the skin (rash, itching), or related to the nervous system (nausea, headache).
If you notice any side effects other than those described above, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
How to store Venosmil
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not use Venosmil after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and blister after “EXP”. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be thrown away via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need. These measures will help protect the environment.
Store below 30 ° C.

- The active substance is Hydrosmin; Each capsule contains 200 mg of hydrosmin.
- The other ingredients are:
Capsule contents: magnesium stearate.
Gelatin capsules: gelatin, erythrosine (E127), quinoline yellow (E104), titanium dioxide (E171) and purified water.
What Venosmil 200 mg looks like and what the pack contains
Venosmil 200 mg are orange capsules containing fine yellow powder.
- The medicinal product is available in blisters of OPA/Al/PVC-foil and AL-foil, 10 capsules per blister; two or six blisters per box.
Not all types of packaging can be released for sale.
