How to measure body temperature:
1. Press the power button.
2. After 5 sec. place the thermometer in the place to be measured.
3. Once you hear 10 short beeps, the measurement is complete if rectal or oral. When measuring in the armpit, beeps indicate an approximate temperature - hold the thermometer for 1-2 minutes in the armpit to measure body temperature. Do not remove the thermometer from the measurement site before the sound signal for the end of the measurement. If the thermometer is moved, [---C] will appear on the display and short beeps will sound to warn of an incomplete or inaccurate measurement. Turn the thermometer off and on again to measure again.
Tips for accurate measurement: With the Quiko thermometer, body temperature can be measured in the armpit, in the mouth and rectally. The temperature in the mouth, armpit and rectum is different. The difference is approximately half a degree at normal temperature. The normal temperature is strictly individual, as well as the difference between the places of temperature measurement. To determine yours, take your temperature at the same time for several weeks. The thermometer should be stored at room temperature (above 20 degrees). An accurate measurement can be made even if the thermometer is stored at a temperature below 20 degrees, but in this case the thermometer must be removed from the measurement site at least 1 minute after the signal.
MEASUREMENT METHODS:
Measurement in the mouth:
Measurement time - approximately 10 seconds. Recommended for adults and children over 4 years of age.
- Place the tip of the thermometer deep under the tongue.
- Hold the tip of the thermometer in this position with your mouth closed until you hear the end of measurement signal.
Do not drink hot or cold drinks, do not smoke, do not exercise at least 5 minutes before measurement.
Underarm Measurement:
- Place the tip of the thermometer in the armpit.
- Apply pressure with your hand, holding the thermometer in this position. The tip of the thermometer should make firm contact with the skin. Before measuring, make sure the armpit is dry.
Rectal:
Measuring time: approx. 10 sec.
- Make sure the thermometer is clean.
- Put a water-soluble lubricant on the tip.
- Carefully insert the tip of the thermometer about 1 cm into the rectum. If you encounter resistance during insertion, do not apply force. For more convenient measurement, the thermometer has a special flexible arm. It allows easy access to the measurement points.
How to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit readings:
With the thermometer turned off, press and hold the power button until the desired units appear on the display - C for Celsius or F for Fahrenheit.
How to replace the battery: When the battery is exhausted, an indication appears on the display.
To replace it:
- Slide back the battery cover.
- Carefully remove the battery from its holder.
- Insert the new battery with the + symbol pointing up.
- Place the battery cover carefully so as not to damage the thermometer device.
Cleaning and disinfection: The thermometer can be cleaned with medical alcohol, alcohol 95%. dry with a clean, dry tissue or medical cotton before using the thermometer.
Conditions for storage and use: The thermometer should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place, away from sunlight and heat sources. Strong electromagnetic fields can cause damage. Keep out of the reach of small children. Never let young children take their temperature alone.
If the temperature rises, consult a doctor. Do not swallow the battery. Do not recharge the battery. Do not throw the battery into fire. Do not bite or pull the device. Do not drop the thermometer on a hard surface. Do not boil the thermometer. Do not attempt to disassemble the device except to replace the battery. After eating, drinking fluids, or exercising, do not take the temperature for at least 5 minutes. We recommend checking the accuracy of the thermometer every 2 years at a licensed laboratory.
