Method of use :
It is recommended to rinse the nose with saline solution before each procedure. You can trust Nosko spray 30 ml. isotonic seawater solution.
Vacuum cleaning of the nose - steps
1. Preliminary preparation: Connect the vacuum cleaner to the mains (plug the cable into the outlet), then place it near the place where cleaning will be done, so that you can turn it on with your hand or foot.
2. Assemble the appliance following the attached image in the leaflet and insert the bell-shaped connector into the vacuum cleaner hose. Now all that remains is to turn on the vacuum cleaner.
3. Flush with saline. (The saline solution with a concentration of 0.9% is physiological, its composition is identical to that of tears. It does not sting, it does not irritate, it only moistens and dilutes the secretion.) After 3 minutes, the removal of the moistened nasal mucosa and the diluted secretion can begin, so vacuum cleaning of the nose can be performed safely without injuring the mucous membrane.
4. Take a correct body position depending on the age of the child.
a.) Vacuum cleaning of the nose in newborns and infants
We raise babies to a semi-sitting position, supporting the back with the left forearm and holding the head upright in the palm of the hand. It is important that the baby is not lying down and his head is not tilted back, because this will make it difficult to remove the discharge. In such cases, the secretion flows to the throat. If the position of the body is correct, the secretion flows towards the nose, thus facilitating its quick and efficient removal.
In newborns and infants, the secretion is not yet so abundant and thick as to require a complete vacuum, so there is no need to press the other nostril. This would be impossible anyway in children of this age, because as soon as the vacuum cleaning device is placed in one nostril and the other nostril is closed, the baby will immediately open its mouth.
b.) Vacuum cleaning of the nose in small children
Have the child sit on your lap with his back to you. Ask the child to bend his head forward - this will help to remove the secretion.
At this age, if the child is able to help you, you can press the other nostril with your fingers; this will result in a complete vacuum and faster cleaning of the nose. A full vacuum results in a more efficient and quick cleaning of the nose, but is not required. It can be achieved when the child is able to cooperate. Ask the child not to open his mouth until you finish cleaning the nose; that way you'll finish faster.
What is vacuum cleaning of the nose: when the nostril is closed, a vacuum is formed in the nose, due to which the secretion passes from the middle nasal passage into the common nasal passage. Thus, after freeing the nostril, we can remove the secretion from the common nasal passage. This is very important when the discharge is thick. The liquid secretion drains by itself from the middle into the common nasal passage, from where it can be easily removed without a full vacuum using the nasal vacuum cleaner.
5. Turn on the vacuum cleaner. Thanks to its construction, the vacuum cleaner for the nose has a constant suction force of 0.2 bar, which is completely safe even when cleaning the nasal cavity of a newborn.
6. Place the suction tip in the nostril.
Placing the appliance in the nostril and proper use
Hold the suction nozzle with your right hand so that the silicone tube is pointing upwards. This is important to prevent secretions from flowing into the tube. This way, the utensil will remain clean and you will only have to wash the suction tip and the container, but not the silicone tube. Insert the suction tip into the nostril as deep as the conical tip will allow. It is not necessary to insert the utensil very deeply and press, as this does not affect the effectiveness. Keep the suction tip tilted down and to the side so that you can remove the secretion without residue. A continuous cleaning course should not last more than 5 seconds. If this is not enough, 5-second courses should be alternated with 3-5-second breaks. Cleaning continues until the container stops filling with secretions.
7. Remove the device from the nostril.
8. Turn off the vacuum cleaner.
9. Detach the appliance from the vacuum cleaner.
10. Disassemble the suction nozzle and wash it under running water. If necessary, you can boil it or otherwise sterilize it. When cleaning, remove the suction nozzle from the container. For more efficient cleaning, you can also disassemble the suction nozzle. The device for vacuum cleaning of the nose can be disassembled into 5 parts, which greatly facilitates cleaning and increases the sterility of the device.
13. After the parts of the utensil are dry, leave them in a clean place so that next time you can use them immediately.
Attention:
Sterilize in boiling water before and after each use. NOT SUITABLE FOR MICROWAVE OVEN USE.
After drying, store assembled in a clean place.
Avoid use of the device by children who suffer from nosebleeds or chronic hemophilia.
