GINKKO BILOBA EXTRACT - through its active ingredients (flavonoids and terpenoids) exhibits anti-platelet, antioxidant, anti-hypoxic and anti-edematous effects. It helps clear free radicals, reducing the latter's damage to the cochlea. It improves blood supply to the inner ear, which has a positive effect on vertigo and tinnitus.
Other benefits of taking Ginkgo biloba extract:
1. Helps the body fight inflammation. Animal studies have shown that Ginkgo biloba extract can reduce markers of inflammation in both human and animal cells in a variety of disease states. Some specific conditions where Ginkgo biloba extract has been shown to affect inflammation are: arthritis, bowel disease, cancer, heart disease, stroke trauma.
2. Improves blood circulation and heart health. One study in people with heart disease who took Ginkgo biloba extract revealed an immediate increase in blood flow to multiple parts of the body. This is due to a 12% increase in levels of circulating nitric oxide, a compound responsible for dilating blood vessels. Another study showed the same effect in adults who were treated with Ginkgo biloba extract.
3. Reduces the symptoms of mental disorders and dementia. Ginkgo biloba extract has been repeatedly evaluated for its ability to reduce anxiety, stress and other symptoms associated with Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline associated with aging. A review of 21 studies found that when used alongside conventional medicine, Ginkgo biloba extract may increase the functional capabilities of those with mild Alzheimer's disease.
4. It can reduce anxiety. Some research shows that supplementing with Ginkgo biloba extract can reduce anxiety symptoms, which is due to its antioxidant content.
5. It can have a positive effect on patients with depression. Research shows that this effect is related to the anti-inflammatory properties of Ginkgo biloba extract, which improve the body's ability to cope when stress hormone levels are high.
6. May support eye health. A study showed that people with glaucoma who took Ginkgo biloba extract in addition to their main treatment had increased blood flow to the eye. Another review of two studies assessed the effect of Ginkgo biloba extract on the progression of age-related macular degeneration.
7. Positively affects headaches and migraines. In traditional Chinese medicine, ginkgo biloba extract is a very popular treatment for headaches and migraines. Ginkgo biloba extract is known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. If the headache or migraine is caused by excessive stress, the application of Ginkgo biloba extract has a positive effect.
8. Affects symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). One study in 85 college students found a 23% reduction in reported PMS symptoms when consuming Ginkgo biloba extract.
9. Affects sexual dysfunction. Ginkgo biloba extract has the ability to improve nitric oxide levels in the blood, which improves circulation by dilating blood vessels.
10. It has a positive effect in combination with classical medicines for acne, psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. A study conducted at Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia, found that Ginkgo biloba seed extract has antibacterial properties. Specifically, it can fight Cutibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes - three types of bacteria that cause acne, psoriasis, dermatitis or eczema.
11. Has a positive effect on peripheral vascular disorders. A study found that Ginkgo biloba phytosome extract may be effective in reducing the number of Raynaud's attacks per week in patients suffering from Raynaud's disease.
MELATONIN - antioxidant and vasoregulatory effects, improves hemodynamics of the brain, regulates sleep, reduces the time to fall asleep. Maintains eye health and relieves symptoms of tinnitus.
VITAMIN B3 – provides smooth muscle relaxation and increases blood flow to the small blood vessels, including those in the inner ear. Improves brain function, has a preventive effect on the cardiovascular system, positively affects patients with joint problems, improves skin function.
VITAMIN B6 – improves the absorption of magnesium.
MAGNESIUM - protects the nerves in the inner ear, inhibits the unregulated production of glutamate, contributes to normal mental function, reduces the feeling of exhaustion and fatigue, improves the condition of patients with mental disorders, positively affects diabetic patients, affects blood pressure, exhibits an anti-inflammatory effect, improves the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, helps in the prevention of migraine headaches, participates in the regulation of cellular functions of the eye.
ZINC – Numerous clinical studies have shown a correlation between zinc deficiency and tinnitus. An improvement in tinnitus was observed in patients taking Zinc. It protects against the negative effects of free oxygen radicals, positively affects patients with anxiety disorders and contributes to normal cognitive function.
What is tinnitus and what are the most common causes?
Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the human ear without an external source. This is almost always a subjective noise of varying frequency, heard only by the sufferer. It has been described as screeching, humming, crickets in the ears, pulsations, wave noises, buzzing, ringing telephones and even music.
The strength of the noise can be different, and for some people the latter causes serious suffering, which hinders communication, concentration and sleep.
The exact cause of tinnitus is unknown, but is thought to be linked to several factors.
Some proven causes of tinnitus are:
• prolonged exposure to loud noise (work noise, music, etc.);
• Accidental exposure to loud noise can lead to temporary tinnitus;
• accumulation of earwax in the ear;
• intake of certain medications;
• inflammation of the ear or sinuses;
• diseases of the cardiovascular system;
• tumor of the vestibular, auditory or facial nerve;
• trauma to the head and neck;
• weakened or hyperfunctioning thyroid gland.
The Tinnitus Association of America notes that the following measures are recommended for patients:
• addition of zinc, magnesium and vitamins to food;
• intake of Ginkgo biloba extract;
• intake of melatonin;
• acupuncture;
• magnetic therapy;
• hyperbaric oxygen therapy;
• hypnosis.
What to do with vertigo?
• lie still in a quiet and dark room;
• move your head carefully and slowly during daily activities;
• sit down immediately when you feel dizzy;
• turn on the lights if you get up at night;
• use an aid (cane) to avoid falling;
• sleep with your head slightly elevated on 2 or more pillows;
• get out of bed slowly and sit for a while on the edge of the bed before standing up;
• try to calm down - anxiety can make symptoms worse.
