DAOSiN® is a dietary supplement containing the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), which breaks down histamine contained in foods in the intestines.
What is histamine?
Histamine is a biologically active substance – a mediator, belonging to the group of so-called biogenic amines. It is produced by our body, but is also taken in naturally with many food products. Histamine is involved in many functions in the body. As a neurotransmitter, it is involved in the regulation of the sleep-wake rhythm, appetite control, learning ability and memory capacity. But the main action of histamine is as a mediator of inflammatory processes in allergic reactions.
What happens to histamine ingested through food?
Eating foods containing histamine usually has no consequences, as histamine is quickly broken down in the intestines by the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO). However, when more histamine-rich foods are consumed, the activity of the DAO enzyme may no longer be sufficient and the breakdown of histamine in the intestines may slow down. In addition, alcohol and some medications can significantly limit the function of the DAO enzyme. When the breakdown of histamine is slowed down, its levels in the body increase and cause reactions such as:

Which foods contain histamine?
Foods that are high in histamine and other biogenic amines are usually those that have been aged or ripened for a long time. There are also many foods that act as histamine-liberators, releasing additional histamine into the gut. Examples of such foods are:
The combined consumption of histamine-rich foods, such as alcohol and cheese, can contribute to a significant increase in histamine levels in the body.
How does DAOSiN® work?
Taking one Daosin® tablet before a meal increases the levels of the enzyme DAO in the intestine and consequently the ability to break down histamine through the natural activity of DAO. One Daosin tablet has an activity of 23 kHDU (histamine breaking down units).
How to take DAOSiN®
Important: Daozin must be taken before meals (ideally, 15 minutes earlier)! The tablet must dissolve and the DAO enzyme contained must be activated before the histamine-containing food reaches the intestines.
Take 1 tablet with a little water 15 minutes before a meal containing histamine. The maximum daily dose is 3 tablets (corresponding to 3 meals containing histamine)
The tablet should be swallowed whole (not chewed) so that the contents can pass through the stomach and reach the intestines intact.
If you take medications regularly, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether their active ingredients may lead to reduced breakdown of histamine from food.

The dietary supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet. Keep out of the reach of children. Store in a dark, dry place at room temperature in the original packaging. Store in the refrigerator after removing the blister from the protective aluminum foil. Minimum shelf life without refrigeration - 3 months after opening the aluminum foil. Keep away from heat.
