LAXX oral drops sol 7.5mg/ml 20ml
Sodium picosulfate is the active substance contained in the medicinal product Lax. It has a laxative effect as a result of direct action on the mucous membrane of the large intestine. Stimulates its movements (peristalsis), causes accumulation of fluids and salts in its cavity. In this way, it softens the stool and facilitates emptying of the bowels.
Lax is used for the short-term treatment of constipation in adults and children, and when needed to facilitate bowel movement, e.g. before some bowel studies.
If you do not feel better or your condition worsens after 4-5 days after starting to take this medicine, you should seek medical attention.
Lax contains sorbitol
This medicine contains sorbitol as a sweetener (1 g of sorbitol corresponds to approximately 17 kJ / 4 kcal). If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult him before taking this product.
The recommended dose is:
Adults, the elderly and children over 10 years of age:
14-27 drops once a day. Start with 14 drops, and the dose can be increased to 27 drops. The maximum dose of 27 drops should not be exceeded.
Children between 4 and 10 years:
7-14 drops once a day. Start with 7 drops, and the dose can be increased to 14 drops. The maximum dose of 14 drops should not be exceeded.
Children under 4 years:
1 drop per 2 kg of body weight.
In children, sodium picosulfate can be administered only after a doctor's appointment.
Application method
This medicine is recommended to be taken once in the evening in the hours before sleep in order to induce a bowel movement the next morning. Its effect occurs between 6 and 12 hours after administration.
The drops can be placed in a glass of water to make it easier to take.
Daily use of the product is undesirable. If after taking the medicine for 4-5 days you do not feel better or your condition worsens, you should contact your doctor.
