Colostrum is a fluid secreted by the mammary glands of female mammals in the first 3 to 4 days after birth, before the appearance of regular breast milk. It contains three main groups of components that provide a high concentration of vital growth and immune system-modulating factors:
Nutritional and bioactive ingredients - colostrum is rich in proteins with high biological value - 46.7%, carbohydrates - 27.2% and fats - 18%.
