Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin that has many functions in the body - it supports blood clotting processes and the normal functioning of blood vessels, supports the natural state of bones. It occurs in two forms - vitamin K1, which is also called phylloquinone, and vitamin K2, also called menaquinone. Vitamin K1 is most commonly found in plants, while K2 is found in dairy products. It is found in dark green vegetables, green tea and animal foods such as beef liver.
