Description of the product:
Afrin ND is a decongestant that relieves nasal congestion by constricting the blood vessels in the nose. Its action begins after a few minutes and lasts for hours.
Afrin ND is used for the symptomatic relief of nasal congestion (stuffy nose) caused by hay fever, colds and sinusitis.
Can be used every 12 hours.
Application:
Adults, children and adolescents over 10 years of age: 1-2 sprays in each nostril, every 12 hours.
Children aged between 6 and 10 years: 1 spray in each nostril, every 12 hours.
No more than a total of 8 injections for adults (4 for children) should be given within 24 hours.
Do not exceed the specified dose.
Afrin ND should not be used for more than 7 days, unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor. Wait a few days before reapplying the product.
Active substance: oxymetazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg/ml

Precautions:
Afrin ND should not be used:
- if you are allergic to oxymetazoline hydrochloride or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors used to treat Parkinson's disease and depression) or if you have taken MAO inhibitors in the last 2 months;
- if you have angle-closure glaucoma;
- if you have undergone a transsphenoidal hypophysectomy (surgical removal of the pituitary gland);
- if you have inflammation of the skin and mucous membrane of the vestibule of the nose and crusts (dry rhinitis);
- if you have acute coronary heart disease or wheezing associated with congestive heart failure.
Consult a doctor before use if you have:
- coronary heart disease;
- high blood pressure (hypertension);
- increased function of the thyroid gland (hyperactivity of the thyroid gland);
- diabetes
- difficulty urinating caused by an enlarged prostate gland.
As with all topical decongestants, continuous use for more than one week is not recommended
Do not use Afrin ND in children under 6 years of age.
Afrin ND can be used in pregnant women if used as recommended. It should not be used during breastfeeding. Caution should be exercised in patients with signs of hypertension or reduced placental perfusion. Frequent or prolonged use in high doses may lead to a decrease in placental perfusion.
