Niacinamide
Niacin and niacinamide are forms of B3, a vitamin vital to the nervous system and the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It is found in various foods such as meat, fish, milk, eggs, green leafy vegetables, legumes, etc.
Niacinamide can be formed in the body from niacin. Niacin is converted to niacinamide when taken in amounts greater than necessary. Both forms dissolve easily in water and are well absorbed when taken orally.
Both niacin and niacinamide are necessary for the normal metabolism of fats and sugars in the body, and maintaining the normal state of the cells. Both forms are effective in preventing vitamin B3 deficiency and related diseases such as pellagra.
Each of these forms can also be beneficial for hallucinations, drug addiction, Alzheimer's disease, depression, alcohol dependence, fluid retention (edema).
However, there is one important difference between niacin and niacinamide – only niacin is the form that effectively lowers cholesterol levels. Some niacin supplements are even approved by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) to treat high cholesterol.
Dosage and administration
Application: Contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, as well as to the normal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Note: During pregnancy and breastfeeding, consult a doctor before use. Do not use as a substitute for a varied and complete diet. Do not exceed the daily recommended dose.
