Food supplement with vegetable Omega-3 fatty acids + natural Vitamin E
Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids that must be taken regularly through food because the human body cannot synthesize them on its own, even though they are essential for life. Among other compounds, the body needs omega-3 fatty acids to build cell membranes and nerve cells, especially those in the eyes and brain.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are the most biologically active omega-3 fatty acids, which is why they are the focus of nutritionists.
Since the share of unsaturated fatty acids in the diet of most European countries is relatively small, sufficient dietary intake of EPA and DHA is not always guaranteed. In these cases, it makes sense to take EPA and DHA in supplement form.
In this context, not only vegetarians and vegans, but also people who cannot or do not want to eat fish, appreciate the plant-based alternative: algae oil. Marine fish contain so many omega-3 fatty acids because they eat algae in which they accumulate.
Omega-3 oil, which is obtained from the microalgae Schizochytrium, is particularly rich in EPA and DHA, tasteless and does not contain fish proteins, a property that is important for allergy sufferers. In addition, Schizochytrium is not genetically modified.
The microalgae that are used to extract omega-3 oil are not collected from the sea, but are grown in special containers in a relatively ecological way and cannot come into contact with possible pollutants of the seawater. Moreover, this process does not have a negative impact on the marine ecosystem, as is the case with fishing and fish farming.
Vitacel®-Omega contains, in addition to omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E (RRR-α-tocopherol), which is obtained from natural vegetable oil. Compared to chemically produced vitamin E, natural vitamin E has a number of advantages: It has the highest biological activity and to the greatest extent helps protect cells in the body from oxidative stress.
With Vitacel®-Omega, the nutritional properties of Omega-3 fatty acids and natural vitamin E complement each other. They, as well as all other ingredients of the preparation, are of plant origin and are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
