What are GripVis lozenges?
GripVis lozenges can be used to help prevent and support the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections caused by cold viruses. GripVis lozenges form a protective barrier against cold viruses.
GripVis lozenges contain Carragelose®, which stabilizes the moisturizing coating on the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat formed during sucking. As a result, the moisturizing coating is retained and forms a mechanical barrier against external influences.
GripVis lozenges can be used by adults and children over 6 years of age.
What do GripVis lozenges contain?
Each GripVis lozenge contains 10 mg of iota-carrageenan (Carragelose®), isomalt, yellow coloring and flavors (honey, menthol, lemon mint).
What are the properties of GripVis lozenges?
The mucous membranes of the mouth, throat and nose are the main routes of infection with the viruses that cause colds and flu-like illnesses. The dry mucous membrane of the mouth and throat is less resistant against cold viruses. Once through the mouth, they can attach to the mucosa where they begin to multiply and spread. GripVis lozenges form a moisturizing protective coating that supports the body's natural defenses against viruses. In addition, Carragelose® non-specifically envelops cold viruses and prevents their attachment to the mucosa. In this way, the reproduction and spread of cold viruses is reduced.
The mucous membrane of the mouth and throat can act as a barrier against external influences only when it is sufficiently moistened. Frequent stays in places with low relative humidity, such as heated or air-conditioned rooms, cars, trains or airplanes, can cause dryness and irritation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat. Also, intense straining of the throat during singing, prolonged talking or smoking can lead to dryness of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat. The consequences can be a cough, a hoarse voice or a sore throat.
What are GripVis lozenges used for?
GripVis lozenges can be used to prevent and support the treatment of colds and flu-like illnesses, as well as to moisten the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat.
To prevent and support the treatment of viral infections of the upper respiratory tract.
For moisturizing the mouth and throat, for example in dry air, in case of cough or hoarse voice.
To prevent and support the treatment of all complaints resulting from dry and/or irritated mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.
Dosage and method of administration
How and how often to use GripVis lozenges?
Take the lozenges several times a day, usually 3-6 times a day according to individual needs. The total daily amount should not exceed six tablets, as a laxative effect may occur.
GripVis lozenges can be used for an extended period of time if necessary (up to 30 days).
When should you not use GripVis lozenges?
In case of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Possible side effects/interactions with other products
There are currently no known side effects.
No studies have been conducted on interactions with other products.
Special precautions for use
GripVis lozenges can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. GripVis lozenges have a local effect. Carragelose® is not absorbed by the cells of the mucous membrane of the throat. GripVis lozenges contain isomalt and can be used by diabetics. Each tablet contains 0.1 bread units (1 bread unit is equal to 12 g digestible carbohydrates).
