Goji Berry - Origin and Facts
Goji berries are the fruits of the Licium barbarum plant. In Central Asia, goji berries, also known as "happy berries," are so prized that people there celebrate several festivals each year in honor of this plant. It is so revered because the fruit is believed to help increase longevity and well-being.
According to some legends, even thousands of years ago, monks in the Himalayas ate goji berries to aid their meditation and gain better health, vitality, longevity, energy and stamina.

There are various types of goji berries on the market in Europe, most of which are 350 in size (on average 350 berries per 50g). Our goji berries are large and juicy - size 180-200 (on average 200 - fruits per 50g). Keep this information in mind when making your choice.
Use: Consume goji berries on their own as a healthy snack or in combination with muesli or nuts. A suitable supplement for raw sweets and shakes. You can also soak them, puree them and use the resulting pulp as a base for drinks and desserts. The recommended daily intake is 10-30 g per day (30 g is about ¼ teaspoon).
Precautions: Avoid taking goji if you are sensitive to plants in the Potato family (Solanaceae - which includes potatoes, tomatoes and peppers). If you are prone to diarrhoea, gas and bloating or your current condition is, it is also not good to take goji.

Easy recipes with goji berries
Goji berry jam or juice
Energizing juice or "unique" marmalade - depends on how much water you add.
1/4 cup goji berries (soaked), use the soaking water.
1/2 tsp. Orange peel
1/2 tsp. grated ginger
1 date or 1 tsp. honey or agave.
Blend in a blender until you get a smooth marmalade consistency. Add a cup of coconut water if desired.
Salad with goji berries
Two apples cut into cubes, 2 tbsp. walnuts, pine nuts, sunflower seeds, 3 tbsp. Goji Berry. Mix and season to taste.
Goji berry and ginger tea
25g ginger in pieces
25g of dried goji berries
25g cane sugar
500 ml of water
Mix the listed products in a kettle or other container and pour hot water over them. Let them soak like this for 20 minutes and pour into a glass and enjoy.
