0.24% hyaluronic acid (as sodium hyaluronate), 2% Ectoin ® , sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment) and water for injections.
Intended use: Supportive treatment and prevention of allergic symptoms of conjunctivitis, relief of irritated eyes and eye lubricant
What is Artelak Ectoin ® ?
Artelac Ectoin ® is a medical device that contains Ectoin ® , a natural, cell-protecting molecule with properties to reduce inflammation and stabilize the membrane, and hyaluronic acid, a natural molecule that soothes the eye through its ability to bind to water to a high degree and its stabilizing properties.
The advanced formula has very high tolerability, as it does not contain preservatives and buffers.
What is the purpose of Artelak Ectoin ® ?
Artelac Ectoin ® is an eye drop, an isotonic solution that can be used to treat and prevent symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic conjunctivitis caused, for example, by pollen, dust mites, animal dander or mold. It effectively reduces itching, irritation, redness or tearing of the eyes; moistening them leads to relief.
Based on the available data, the product can be used in children, pregnant and lactating women.
When should you use Artelak Ectoin ® ?
Artelac Ectoin ® stabilizes the natural tear film in two ways: hyaluronic acid has a positive effect on the aqueous phase and Ectoin ® strengthens the lipid phase. This dual mode of action protects the eye from the harmful effects of allergens and other external factors and supports the regeneration process of the irritated and sensitive conjunctiva. Artelac Ectoin ® does not contain preservatives and is suitable for contact lens wearers and for sensitive eyes.
How often and for how long should you use Artelak Ectoin ® ?
Apply 1-2 drops of Artelac Ectoin ® into the eye as needed. You can use it every day and as often as you want. There is no limit to the duration of use.
How to use Artelak Ectoin ® ?
Artelac Ectoin®'s patented pump mechanism allows the eye drop solution to be preservative-free, but the dropper bottle may not look like the ones you've used in the past.
The illustrations show the simple and easy use of Artelac Ectoin®
- Remove the protective cap from the top of the bottle before each use. Make sure the tip of the bottle does not touch your fingers.
- Place your thumb on the ergonomic thumb rest and two other fingers on the bottom of the bottle.
- Turn the bottle upside down and hold it as shown. Before using the pump for the first time, you need to prime it. You can do this by pressing down on the thumb rest about 7 times until the first drop appears.
4. To apply the drop, tilt your head back slightly and hold the bottle in a comfortable position over your eyes. Gently pull the lower eyelid down with the finger of your free hand, hold the bottle in a vertical position and gently press the thumb rest to apply one drop into the eye.
Then close your eye and slowly rotate it to distribute the drop optimally over the surface of the eye.
You can use your other hand for extra support and precision if you feel it's necessary.
5. Avoid contact of the tip of the bottle with eyes or fingers to prevent possible contamination of the solution.
6. Replace the protective cap on the top of the bottle immediately after each use.
When should you not use Artelak Ectoin ® ?
Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
Important information regarding the use of Artelac Ectoin ®
- Please note that upon first use or after it has not been used for a while, an initial pumping of the solution is required. When pumping the solution, the bottle should be held with the dropper tip pointing downwards.
- Local hypersensitivity reactions have been reported rarely. In such cases, treatment should be discontinued.
- The product may cause temporary blurred vision after application, which may negatively affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
- Do not touch the surface of the eye with the tip of the bottle to prevent possible injury to the ocular surface or contamination of the solution.
- After application, shake off any remaining drops.
- Careless use of the product contrary to the instructions for use may result in the product slipping from the hand and causing eye injury.
- Wait approximately 15 minutes before using another eye product.
- Do not use after the expiration date.
- Do not use if the packaging or bottle is damaged.
- Artelak Ectoin ® is in a bottle with small plastic parts that can be swallowed by small children. Choking hazard. Therefore, Artelak Ectoin ® should be kept out of the reach of children.
- Artelac Ectoin ® is suitable for use with soft and hard contact lenses.
How to store Artelak Ectoin ® ?
Store at a temperature between 2 – 25°C.
The bottle design allows you to use Artelac Ectoin® for 6 months after opening.
