A blend of red, yellow, purple and black maca roots from Peru. Used by indigenous people for centuries, maca is now popular around the globe.
Maca ( Lepedium mayenii ) grows in the Andes at an altitude of over 4000 m. In such harsh conditions, the plants must have a very good absorption of nutrients from the soil. This is why maca has been part of the diet of the local population for millennia. And while they use the whole plant, Rainforest Foods' maca is sourced from the root and lower stem, where nutrients are most concentrated. It is a mixture of red, yellow, purple and black roots. It is grown organically in Peru using traditional techniques. Maca has a long growing period – up to 8 months. Once peeled, it is slowly dried before being ground into a powder.

Method of use:
Mix 1 tsp. tip maca root powder with water, juice or shake and take once or twice a day. You can sprinkle it on foods such as muesli, cereals or porridge.
Maca should not be used as a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
